As with all my Monolithic-Modern Sculpture I have dealt with premise that my Abstract Modern Sculpture exists primarily in Outer Space and the Modern Contemporary Sculpture is created by the point in space that four circles have in common. This deems the Abstract Sculpture as the point in space that circles have in common. Their axis points and circumferences when sketched out exist primarily in outer space. This approach leaves the predominate portion of the sculpture deemed invisible and the Contemporary Sculpture as the inner space visible as a monolith in these Abstract Sculptures. This may all seem complex but simply put these Abstract Monumental Sculpture is the Inner Space that 4 perpendicular circles in space have in common. Modern Abstract Sculpture can take on many other sub headings depending how the conceptual basis of the Modern Sculpture are conceived. I like to refer to my Modern Contemporary Sculpture as Minimal Abstract Sculpture in that it starts with the Abstraction of the Cube or in my case the elongated version of a Cube, the Rectangle. I chose the Rectangle as the Minmal Element I wished to Abstract because it was less blocky and more elegant in its elongated form. The basic premise based around the Cube and the Grid are what Modernism and Minimalism are based on. Things had been broken down to their simplest form in 1968 when I began building Modern Sculpture, so I choose to approach Minimalism by Abstracting it. This was the only direction I saw possible to explore as Minimalism had already posted.

These White Painted Steel Sculptures came as close as possible to being invisible as I could get in Painted Steel Sculpture. They were done in a semi-gloss white finish when placed in a Gallery Environment surrounded white walls they seemed disappear as a form and appeared more as a Abstraction of the Space in which it was contained. As Outdoor Abstract Sculpture they function quite nicely as pure space against the primarily green hues of the surrounding foliage. They also work well as Outdoor Sculpture in Architectural settings complimenting the Architecture with with the Abstractions of Space. As Abstract Monumental Sculpture goes White next to Stainless Steel has the nicest and most Minimal Spacial Quality. It meshes well with the "Light and Space Movement" that exist predominately in California and the South West portion of America for obvious reasons, the ever present and fairly consistant abundance of light on a almost daily basis. Modern Artist are more than not inspired by their surroundings and reflect this in their work.

These Contemporary Sculpture uses my Formal Vocabulary as Volumes by taking the different opposing facets of my Concrete Sculpture from the 1970's as a starting point and used as a corner template to bridge. With Metal Sculpture I was able to achieve finer edges and bridging opposing facets from my earlier monoliths was a great way from going from planer abstractions to that of volumes. Using 1/8 " thick sheet metal and bridging the opposing facets not only created Volume but Warped Planes. In my opinion they worked even better in the 360 degrees surrounding the Abstract Sculpture. Often simple approaches create new and exciting changes that are quite complex in their simplicity and referred to as break through events, the most exciting moment in  in field of creation.
